Originally from the Chicago area, I also spent 13 yrs in the state of Colorado to pursue a different field of masonry. During this time, I began to use my talent as a drummer, and started to teach/tutor on the side for about 10 yrs before moving here to the country of Ecuador. Upon my arrival i started my career as an online English teacher, which I am really passionate about. I have been able to take the skills from teaching music and apply them towards language.
As a very enthusiastic, animated individual, i like to make learning fun. Of course there is a time to be serious, but if the student is not engaged, they quickly lose interest. This is not good. So because I believe that becoming a good teacher is a lifelong process and a challenge, I am always reading, doing research, to find different and new ways to improve in my teaching skills and methods. The results have been proven on Cambly, where I have been quite successful over the past 3 yrs. My achievement is that I enjoy what I do, and it shows, as opposed to someone who does not. I really get a kick when "the light bulb turns on", when the student finally grasps the idea of what I have been sharing. This means I have been doing my job well.
