About
Kayla Zuskin is a guitarist, songwriter and producer located in Asheville, NC.
She plays guitar in local bands, records and produces out of the Cat's Claw Studio and plays her original music under the moniker Lavender Blue.
Kayla began teaching guitar on her summers off from college in 2012, and has continued to teach guitar, ukulele, songwriting and music theory to students of all ages and skill levels. She is able to connect with the student wherever they're at and draws from a lifetime of lessons herself.

I will cater the lessons to each individual student dependent on age, current skill level, and goals.
Generally the lesson will consist of three main pieces.
Piece 1-Understanding chords, right hand picking/strumming technique and rhythmic playing.
Piece 2- Single note playing as it relates to note reading, improvisation, scales (pentatonic, major, minor, modal etc.) as well as using ear training to find melodies,
Piece 3- Creative practice and practical application of previous techniques.
Each of these will vary greatly from student to student.
