I am a classical guitarist that never thought I would be able to play finger-style guitar, now here I am passing on what I know to my students. My own guitar lessons began more than five years ago and I have been practicing and studying ever since. I am continuing my studies at Old Dominion University where I am currently enrolled as a student. I have played for weddings, museum events, and college recitals. I began teaching privately two years ago and I also taught at Guitar Center for one year. My one and only goal is to help my students learn the guitar so they can play whatever music they want and reach their own personal goals.
My teaching style is half method, half repertoire. I like to make sure my students practice technique and form while also applying those skills to pieces of music to perform. I also encourage my students learn songs they like as well. I have been known for my patience when the students struggle, and I always help them develop good practice habits and mentalities to keep them focused and motivated.
