About
Hello! I have a passion for teaching and performing on all woodwinds and can help you enjoy learning your chosen woodwind instrument. I am a Cleveland, OH native and passionate educator with over 20 years of professional experience performing in pit orchestras for musical theater, orchestras, and church performances where I also arranged the music for worship. I am currently the woodwind applied lesson professor for Cuyahoga Community College.
I teach all ages of students, from the complete beginner to the advanced musician. I enjoy not only helping students learn a single instrument but learning how to double onto other woodwinds. One of my greatest joys is being able to share what I have learned and assist others in their personal growth toward their goals. My students have been accepted into various music programs including the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, and various college music programs.
My passion is music, and I want my students to love their instrument too. I am aware that each student has their own personal goals. I enjoy learning about those goals and assisting each student to achieve those dreams with their chosen instrument. I don't have just one mode of teaching and easily adapt to what a student needs for learning styles. Together we will learn to make while having fun.
I work with each student on his or her own level to choose appropriate material and adjust as needed with other supplemental resources. Come with what you have and we will progress from there.

Masters of Music in Woodwind Performance and Pedagogy from East Carolina University
Music Educator for 7 years at Magnificat High School, Royal Redeemer Lutheran School, & Cuyahoga Community College teaching all instruments in band and wind ensembe settings, along with teaching intro to music and music for elementary education courses.
Private Woodwind Instructor for 20+ years at Cuyahoga Community College, Various Music Stores, and a priate studio at home teaching privately all woodwind instruments from beginners to college preparation and classical and jazz styles.
Pit Orchestra Musician on all woodwinds for 20+ years at Porthouse Theater, Weathervain Theater, Rabbit Run Theater, Cassidy Theater, Chagrin Valley Little Theater, Aurora Community Theater, Huntington Playhouse, & Various High School Theaters for dozens of differnet musicals performing on all flutes, clarinets, saxophones, and oboe & english horn.

I have an extensive library of solos and band method books available to me through MakeMusic. My subscription here also includes a lot of accompaniment tracks for the soloist preparing for contest and auditions.
