About

Kristen is a graduate of the Moores School of Music, University of Houston with a degree in violin performance. She fell in love with music as a child, taking lessons for both piano and violin; at age 12 she was invited to perform with the Mid-Texas Symphony and thus began a lifetime of performing both nationwide and abroad. As a violinist her performance history is largely classical, but in addition to orchestral work Kristen is an established freelance musician and has played with many popular touring artists such as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Idina Menzel, Lea Salonga, Il Divo, and more. In addition to performing Kristen has been teaching for almost 10 years and always places great emphasis on music education. She teaches every age and skill level, and tailors her approach to suit each student's learning style by employing a variety of teaching methods. "Where words leave off, music begins." - Heinrich Heine

Individualized to each student based on playing level, theory skills, age, and experience. Use a combination of traditional and Suzuki (ear-training) teaching methods. I'm also trained in Alexander Technique which I incorporate into lessons.
