Ksenia Lytvynenko
About
I graduated from the Serge Lifar Kyiv Municipal Academy of Dance in Ukraine and had the wonderful opportunity to work at the the National Opera of Ukraine for a year. My career has allowed me to tour internationally, performing in France, Mexico, and Spain.
I also completed a postgraduate program at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School in Canada, where I furthered my passion for classical ballet and teaching.
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of teaching ballet to children and teens. In Winnipeg, I worked with students aged 10–17 at Genesis School of Dance for a year and a half, and in Egypt, I taught students aged 6–18 at Easy Talent Academy. I’ve also worked with rhythmic gymnasts, helping them build a strong ballet foundation.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is focused on creating a positive and supportive environment where every student feels encouraged to grow at their own pace. I believe in balancing strong classical technique with creativity and expression, helping students not only improve their skills but also develop their love for dance.
I work with each student individually, tailoring lessons to their unique strengths and areas for improvement. I incorporate elements of the Vaganova method to ensure proper alignment, strength, and flexibility while fostering a deep understanding of musicality and artistry.
In my classes, I encourage students to explore their full potential while staying patient and gentle with the learning process. I believe in building confidence through steady progress and creating a space where mistakes are part of the learning journey.
Curriculum
My teaching method combines classical ballet technique with a strong emphasis on musicality, flexibility, strength, and artistry. I follow the Vaganova method, which ensures proper body alignment, coordination, and the development of fluidity in movement. I believe in building a strong technical foundation while allowing students to express their individuality and creativity.
I also place importance on injury prevention, making sure that students understand how to protect their bodies while improving their technique. Each class is structured to gradually increase in difficulty, and I use a mix of exercises to help students develop both strength and fluidity.
Recommended texts for my students include:
- “Classical Ballet Technique” by Gretchen Ward Warren
- “The Art of Dancing” by Enrico Cecchetti
- “Conditioning for Dance” by Eric Franklin
Additionally, I encourage students to watch performances of renowned ballet companies to gain inspiration and see how technique can be applied artistically on stage.
