About

I am a passionate saxophonist, educator, and performer based in Miami, currently completing my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance and Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Professional Sales at Florida State University(Graduating in May 2025). I’ve been fortunate to study under renowned musicians such as David Detweiler, Scotty Barnhart, and Leon Anderson, and have gained valuable teaching experience through my work with FSU’s Honors Jazz Camp.

In addition to my studies, I have performed in prestigious settings, including the Lakeside Jazz Festival 2024, a Costa Rica Tour with the FSU Honors Jazz Combo, and as a semi-finalist at the NASA Jazz Competition 2024. As a freelance musician, I’ve played in venues in Tallahassee and Miami, including places like Gusman Concert Hall and Vizcaya.

My professional experience as a woodwind repair technician has also informed my approach to teaching, allowing me to help students understand the mechanical aspects of their instruments to maximize their potential.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is rooted in creating a personalized learning environment that encourages students to explore their musical voice while building a strong technical foundation. I focus on:

Sound Production & Technique – I believe in focusing on the basics, such as long tones, articulation, and intonation, so that students can produce their best sound.
Improvisation & Jazz Theory – I guide students through improvisational exercises and jazz theory, emphasizing practical application in real musical contexts.
Performance Preparation – I help students prepare for auditions, concerts, and performances, focusing on stage presence, confidence, and execution.
Repertoire Building – I encourage students to learn a wide range of jazz standards, transcriptions, and solos that broaden their musical vocabulary.

My goal is to create a relaxed and fun learning atmosphere, where students feel motivated to grow, and also build the necessary skills to succeed in their musical pursuits.
