About
Thanks for visiting my page! I have been on faculty at Montclair State University in New Jersey since 2014. I am also the Brass Coordinator at the Keio Academy near White Plains, NY. I have over 20 years of teaching experience with a private studio. My students have gone on to win jobs in professional orchestras and military bands. My High School students regularly enter schools such as Julliard and Mannes, and are accepted to All-Area and All-Region Bands and Orchestras.
My performing experience is wide ranging. Currently I am a member of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and have been a member of the Jerusalem, Columbus, and Syracuse Symphony Orchestras. Additionally I have performed with the Orchestra of St. Luke's, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, American Ballet Theater Orchestra, and the New York City Ballet Orchestra to name a few. I have been a member of pit orchestras on Broadway in "Sideshow", "Something Rotten," and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."
My goal is to give my students a big enough toolbox in order to eventually teach themselves. I want them to hear themselves the way that I hear them. I tailor my teaching and perscribed exercises and repertoire to each individual student's needs and learning style.

Frequently I use texts like "The Art of the French Horn" by Phillip Farkas, "Pares Scales", the Koprash etudes, and the Shoemaker Legato Etudes for horn. I also use Getchell Books 1&2 for beginners or near beginners. Additionally we will inevitably play the classic solo horn repertoire, such as the Mozart horn concerti, Strauss Horn Concerti, "Villanelle" by Paul Dukas, among many others.
