About
I am a classically trained piano teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Piano and a Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), completed in 2017.
Since 2017, I have been teaching piano at the Music School of Cham (Switzerland), working primarily with children and teenagers, as well as adult beginners. I specialize in building a strong technical and musical foundation while keeping lessons engaging, structured, and age-appropriate.
In addition to my teaching work, I am the author of a music education book and the creator of original music theory printables and teaching resources, which I regularly use in my lessons to support understanding, motivation, and independent practice.
My goal as a teacher is to help students develop confidence, musical curiosity, and long-term enjoyment of music, whether they are learning for personal fulfillment or academic progression.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is structured, supportive, and student-centered. I adapt each lesson to the student’s age, level, and learning pace, combining clear goals with creativity and flexibility.
I place a strong emphasis on:
-
Healthy technique and posture
-
Musical expression from the very beginning
-
Reading skills and rhythm awareness
-
Motivation and positive reinforcement
With younger students, I use games, visual materials, and short creative tasks to keep lessons fun and effective. With older students and adults, I focus on efficient practice strategies, musical interpretation, and building confidence step by step.
I believe consistency, clarity, and encouragement are key to successful progress.
Curriculum
My teaching approach combines traditional piano pedagogy with modern, engaging resources. I tailor materials to each student’s needs and goals.
Commonly used methods and resources:
-
Piano Pronto – for a clear, modern, and motivating start
-
Piano Safari – especially effective for young beginners, focusing on technique and musicality
-
MuseScore – for reading practice, assignments, and flexible repertoire selection
-
IMSLP – for access to classical repertoire and supplementary material
I also integrate custom worksheets, flashcards, and theory games to reinforce learning in a practical and enjoyable way.
Lessons are designed to help students not only play the piano, but also understand music, practice independently, and enjoy the learning process.
