About

I am a classically trained clarinetist originally from Montréal, Quebec. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Clarinet Performance from McGill University, and my Masters and Doctorate in Clarinet Performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University with a minor in Music Education. While at IU, I served as the Assistant Instructor for the clarinet studios and taught all non-major private lessons, undergraduate charger lessons when professors were out of town, coached chamber ensembles, taught masterclasses, and taught the Sophomore Patterns class for clarinet.

I have played in many chamber ensembles, orchestras and bands as well as in an opera orchestra at the Ohio Light Opera on clarinet, bass clarinet, and Eb clarinet. For many years I was the clarinet teacher for District 214 in Chicago and was the Woodwind Specialist at Buffalo Grove High School. My students have gone on to study music at the university level, and all of my students received the highest grade in their solo and ensemble competitions. I currently teach clarinet at the People's Music School of Chicago. I have been a studio clarinet teacher for 15 years.

I believe in a scientifically backed approach to teaching and therefore keep up to date on music education research. I enable my students' success by working with them to achieve their individual goals, whether that be to move up a chair in band, perform their very best at solo and ensemble competitions, audition for youth orchestras, prepare for a college audition, or just to learn and enjoy the clarinet.

I believe in an empathetic, kind approach to teaching and encourage my students to be an active participant in their education by selecting their own repertoire and setting their own goals in my studio.
