Leon Karan

Leon Karan, M.F.A., B.Mus., R.M.T.,

Leon Karan is holding positions as Director of Piano Pedagogy courses and piano instructor at the School of the Arts at McMaster University.  In year 1993 he established private Leon's Music Studio, in 2004-2005 he volunteered as Vice-President of Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association, Hamilton/Halton Branch, and consequently in 2009 joined the faculty of Hamilton Academy of Performing Arts.

More than 55 years into my teaching career, I am still enjoying every moment of it and learning as I go. Many of my students are serious musicians; some have become professionals after receiving highest awards in local, provincial, and nationwide competitions, as well as medals and scholarships from Royal Conservatory of Music, Conservatory Canada and McMaster University.
