Lilian Mañalac

I have been teaching voice for the past 20 years. Classical, Musical Theater, to Pop. I have also been involved in choral music for as long as I can remember. I am a coloratura soprano and currently teach private voice lessons. 

MARY LILIAN L. MANALAC - She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of the Philippines.  As a coloratura soprano, she majored in voice under National Artist and Professor Andrea O. Veneracion and Professor Fides Asencio.  As part of her undergraduate studies, she also attended the University of Houston's Moore School of Music ( Texas, USA ) in 1995-1997.

Aside from the opera roles she has performed, Lilian is also an alumni member and soloist of The Philippine Madrigal Singers and a former member and soloist of The San Miguel Master Chorale.  In addition, she was a faculty member of the University of the Philippines College of Music Extention Program from 1995-2000.

In my 20 years of teaching voice, there is no one method for everyone. Teaching them the right techniques is essential. Not only that, but visualization and imagination plays a big part in learning how to sing correctly and properly. It is also important that the teacher knows what they're talking about and has the experience to make sure that they do not damage the voice. Most of all, trust plays an essential part in a teacher-student relationship. Sometimes, students are afraid to sing out of their comfort zone, but if the student trusts the teacher, students can develop their skills to their highest potential.
