About

During my federal career, I maintained a small business in weaving, dyeing and loom rehabilitation and presented guild programs and workshops in those subjects. Moving to Washington State and retirement offered me the opportunity to teach workshops for larger venues, in addition to local guilds. With the advent of Zoom in 2020, I have presented dozens of guild programs to three Canadian Territories and five US States, as well as seminars for the 2022 HGA Virtual Conference.

I dye my own yarns and teach warp-painting and mid-to-upper level weave structures, along with a three part weave drafting program. My small studio consists of 8 shaft, 12 shaft and 24 shaft compu-dobby looms. I also tutor beginning students using my ten table looms. All proceeds from teaching go to charity organizations.

I currently participate in the Skagit Valley Studio Tour “NW ArtBeat”, and was invited to the Face of Fiber Art Event in Estes Park Colorado in 2022, receiving the Judges Award for one piece and Complex Weavers Award for my second piece. I am a ‘featured’ artist in Arts Alive LaConner, an invitational art event in Washington. Among other awards, I received my first Complex Weavers Award in an art exhibition in 2016, and two honorable mentions in a Denver art show in 2014. I have also written numerous articles and web blogs for Handwoven Magazine (at their request) on nearly every aspect of the loom as a machine and a best friend.
