Lois Chen

Hi! My name is Lois, and I am a classically trained pianist who has been playing since I was 6 years old. With over 10 years of experience as a piano teacher, I am skilled at teaching students of all ages and levels, from absolute beginners to advanced. I offer instruction in both playing by ear and reading music notation. I have helped students pass their piano exams with distinction, and, most importantly, I am dedicated to helping each student reach their fullest potential on their piano learning journey.

I firmly believe that technical work, aural skills, theory, and practical abilities are equally important. By developing each of these areas without neglecting any, students can truly enjoy and understand music. I customize lesson plans for each individual based on their progress, learning ability, and musical talent. I can also coach students for graded piano exams, performances, and competitions. Most importantly, I ensure that my students not only understand the material but also get the most out of each lesson.
