About

Improve your musical abilities with a conservatory trained guitarist, harpist and composer who harbors a passion for a wide variety of music from medieval to classical, classic rock, folk and electronic. I have played in ensembles ranging from Jazz Big Band (on both guitar and harp), pop, rock, metal, renaissance and orchestral. Upon graduating with my Master's in Film Scoring (NYU, '19), I now split my time between teaching music and scoring various forms of media such as commercials, films and video games. I have composed for orchestra as well as ensembles of up to eight harps, and my commercial music has been featured in international ad campaigns. I received my Bachelor's in Music Composition from Peabody Conservatory in 2014.

I strive to impart a well-rounded set of skills to my students ranging from sight reading to playing by ear and improvisation. Depending on the student's experience level, lessons consist of a mixture of technique work, music theory/reading, and then playing relevant songs and pieces, often selecting songs based on the interests of the student and the songs' relevant music theory and technique. One of the biggest joys of teaching is when a student learns one of their favorite songs, and realizes that it is often easier than they thought and well within their grasp.

B.M. Music Composition, Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, '14
M.M. Screen Scoring, NYU, '19
Guitar, Bass and Mandolin instructor, 2019-2021, Guitar Center Union Square

My harp syllabus draws from that of the graded ABRSM harp exams and is supplemented with various folk tunes and original arrangements customized for the student. Name a song, there's a good chance we can play it on harp :)

My guitar syllabus can vary depending on the student's goals, but I use A Modern Method for Guitar by William Leavitt, the two-part inventions of J.S. Bach, the violin etudes of Jakob Dont and a plethora of pop and rock arrangements in staff notation as well as tablature.
