Lucy Lardie
About
Hello! My name is Lucy and I am a current college student at CSU! My major is Music Education and I love getting to connect people through music. I've been playing clarinet for 7 years now and I'm very eager to teach. I have done a lot when it comes to music these past couple of years such as honor bands and leadership positions at my school! For instance, I have participated in more than 4 honor bands across the state of Colorado giving me lots of higher band experience. This included multiple bands at state universities such as Colorado State Universfy and Colorado Mesa Universty. I have done the Colorado State Universty Honor Band in both 2024 and 2025 in December. I have earned my high school diploma from Pine Creek High School in Spring of 2026. I graduated with honors for my grades as well as many honors from honor societies throughout my school. This included Tri-M Music Honor Society and Social Studies Honor Society. On top of this I have also been volunteering my time to help teach local middle school band students! I love getting to teach students whenever I can and music is such a strong passion of mine. I know I can help spread my passion and love for the performing arts through my teaching!
Teaching Style
I like teaching through performances. What I mean by this is on top of learning through basic method books we are also going to learn through preparing solo works of music! I think this is what prepares musicians the most for the musical world! I also enjoy finding musical opportunities that can push students to become the best version of themselves!
Curriculum
The books I enjoying teaching out of are Standard of Excellence by Bruce Pearson, Essential Elements for Band, and Rubanks Intermediate Methods. I also enjoying working through fun solo works! If you don't have any of these books don't worry as I am adaptable to teaching through other books.
Credentials & Affiliations
I have helped tutor middle school band students in the community for about 2 years now. I have helped them grow basic skills as musicians which makes them more confident! I would go in on Wednesday afternoons and help grow their skills one on one which was super important to starting musicians.

Finally I am an honors graduate from Pine Creek High School. This included a GPA above 4.0 as well as 3 National Honor Societies I gained honor cords from.
I have set up and run many school music events such as a Solo and Ensemble performance day which helped me learn how to give constructive feedback as well as planning skills.
