About

Hi! I'm Luka, a guitar/music teacher from England, I teach classical guitar, jazz guitar, music theory and any other genres as I have a wide breadth of knowledge.
I've been playing since I was 8 years old and was firstly part of my high schools rock and jazz ensembles. Moving into college I was part of a rock band playing covers of classics and gigging for around a year, at the same time as being involved with most of the ensebles that my school had to offer such as Jazz band where I played comping guitar and bass. I also have played upright bass and classical guitar for the schools wind band, the colleges string ensemble and with my peers.

Teaching Style

My teaching philosophy when it comes to classical is focusing on technique, interpretation, and the joy of bringing compositions to life
For jazz I take a very vocabulary based approch like people such as Denis Chang.
Why learn with me in the first place?
I’ve been where you are, the struggles, the breakthroughs and I’ll help you progress with patience, humor, and real world insights!

Curriculum

My approach is tailored to each student — in the first lesson I'll always ask about your goals, current level, and what excites you about the guitar, and build from there.

For classical guitar I focus on technique, tone production, sight reading, and progressive repertoire, drawing on the ABRSM grade framework where useful. For jazz, I teach through chord vocabulary, scales, ear training, and transcription — because learning to play what you hear is what makes a great jazz musician.
