About

Hi! Thanks for considering me for music lessons. I'm a recent graduate from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, a one-year tuition free masters program. I’m now living in the NY area. I lead my own quartet, performing my original music. I also play as a sideman in many musical situations, from big bands, wedding bands and pit orchestras to rock and reggae groups.

I can teach saxophone, flute, clarinet, beginner piano, and music theory/composition. All ages, all skill levels. I think it’s beneficial to take music lessons for a few reasons. First, it helps cultivate a love of music within the student. This provides a unique emotional outlet and a lifelong interest for the student. Second, music is a lens of life and reflects the human experience - so working on music means developing focus, discipline, respect and perseverance, all traits that extend past musical boundaries and into life. I love helping students discover their specific passions within music, whether it's through learning a jazz solo, learning a pop song that they love, or composing their own song. I believe each student should follow where their interests lead them, and I strive to be inclusive of these interests in my approach. My teaching style blends the study of fundamentals with practical application, music theory, song-learning, and real world training.
