I’ve been studying the flute since 2007 and teaching since 2017. I love playing the flute and getting to share what I know about flute and music with my students. I have experience teaching in both group and private settings and I like to give my students opportunities to perform throughout the year. I have recently obtained a Bachelor's degree in elementary education with a music minor. Many of my students have had success winning auditions, placing in competitions, and accelerating through their school band programs.

Today we talked about cleaning the flute. How it should be cleaned. I enjoyed the examples she had on when to replace the pads on the flute and how to clean every part of the flute. Great class. two thumbs up.👆
I WAS A EXCELLENT firstCLASS.
I am playing!!!! Maddison is amazing and I'm so excited to learn the flute again after 3 decades and bringing creativity back into my life as an empty-nester. Thank you Maddison! I'm still on Mary had a Little Lamb, but its a song and I remember playing at the beginning in 8th grade too. Its positive and brings me joy.
Maddi knows how to teach flute technique to children with attention issues and special needs. She makes each lesson build on the last and plans different activities during the course of the lesson to keep the child engaged and excited. We tried out different teachers and feel grateful to have found her! My child just participated in his first flute festival and we are so proud! She was there, encouraging him and giving him reminders along the way of what to do once he got on stage, how to bow, exit the stage, etc. We have had lessons at both of her studios, at our home, online. She always makes it a quality experience. Moreover, throughout the year, she sends us newsletters with performances we can attend, competitions and festivals throughout the region we can participate in, and opportunities to improve our playing. She is very in the know and keeps us--even though beginners--informed, too! I feel like we have joined the flute community! :)
So exceeded my expectation! Thank you Maddison for my 1st lesson and getting me back to the instrument from a 3 decade break! Highly recommend and I look forward to my weekly lessons!
Always great flute class time and very productive
My daughter really enjoys and loves to play flute with you! She says you're very professional. Also, her sounds of flute improved a lot after studying with you. Thank you so much!
Maddie is great, easy to work with and strives to find ways to make it easier to schedule classes. She communicates very well with parents about upcoming performance opportunities. My daughter likes her and enjoys the way she teaches and feels comfortable with her.
My daughter was very happy with her first lesson with Maddison. She helped her with lip positions and how to breathe out to make the best sound. Maddison is very responsive to my text and help me scheduled my daughter. She explained everything very clearly. We'll definitely continue to have her tutor my daughter.
Maddie does a great job at managing classes, allowing for performance opportunities, and my daughter likes the way she teaches too.
Maddison really helped my daughter with the basics to set her up for success. Lydia is very excited about continuing to work with Maddison and is excited about playing the flute!
Maddi is a wonderful flute teacher! Her studio is organized very well. Maddi offers group classes, recitals, opportunities to be in competitions and other performances throughout the year. She has goals set for practice time and for learning scales. She is a loving and talented teacher. My daughter (flute player) loves Maddi!

Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching through self-discovery and letting students try different approaches to see what works best for them.
Curriculum
The teaching method I primarily use is the Blocki Flute Method for beginners and intermediate players. I use a larger variety of materials with my advanced students. I like to meet with you once before recommending any specific books for you to get.
Credentials & Affiliations
I am certified in elementary education with a music endorsement. I currently perform with the Utah County Flute Choir.
