Maiia Hovorukha

Hello! My name is Maiia, I have been playing the cello for 10 years and have a lot of experience in solo performance, chamber music and in the orchestra. I study at the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet and even though I'm a student myself and still learning, I can happily teach you a lot. I think it actually helps, because I can see you also from a student's perspective and we can understand each other better this way. Every day I gain more experience that I can share with you.

I have already played solo with Maribor Conservatory Symphony Orchestra twice, have a lot of experience playing in orchestras of different levels such as YsOU, STYO, Maribor String Orchestra and different ensembles. I have also received various prizes at competitions such as ICYM, Daleki akordi, TEMSIG..

I can offer cello lessons for beginners and intermediate students. I can also teach students who want to become a serious musicians or want to continue their path, but only as an additional teacher. I can help you learn how to practice, learn to listen to yourself and help you improve your technique.

I can teach you to play and enjoy playing the cello. I can help you improve your technique, give you tips on how to practice, and teach you the basics of playing.

I try to give my students motivation and enjoyment in playing the instrument. I also adapt to each student because all people are very different and each needs a different approach. I believe that technique is the most important part of learning, so I can give a lot of advice on practicing it.

We can choose a program that will suit your level or you can bring me something you already know how to play and we can work on it.

We can play anything you want - so if you want to learn to play serious pieces then we can also choose a program for that depending on your level, or if you just want to learn to play different holiday songs we can do that too. Just tell me what you would like to do.
