Teaching Style
I try to find the students passion in music and build lessons structured to enhance skills and confidence. My early studies included lessons with John Coltrane's theory teacher, Dennis Sandole.
Curriculum
Being primarily a jazz player, exercises that improve overall skills are critical. Emphasis is placed on the theoretical music pillars; harmony, melody and rhythm. Exercises will be given to gain better knowledge of the guitar neck and mechanics. Transcription of specific pieces for a deeper understanding of the musical language and ear training will be executed as well.
