About
I sang from the age of 3 and now into my 30th year and I can't be more grateful for what I do. My background includes cruise ship entertainment, jazz bands, musical theater, vocal ensembles, and even metal bands.
Hailing from the Baltic Region of Kaliningrad, Russia, I mix and match the best from Russian and American approaches to teaching voice and music.
I'm passionate about yoga, mindfulness, and body-mind connection. I approach music as a somatic experience that includes all parts of our being: physical, emotional, intellectual, social, psychological. I value sustainability and health. Having gone through my personal vocal health crisis, I learned to leave abusive practices behind. It opened up a whole new world of creative freedom for me and made me a good advisor on vocal rehab.
I get inspired by musical artists like Lake Street Dive, Regina Spector, Maggie Rogers, Alabama Shakes, etc. I find a lot of joy in songwriting and creative exploration.
Teaching Style
I teach from a place of curiosity. What matters the most for me is what inspires my students and how they feel as they make music. I see myself as a facilitator for my students: inquiring, guiding them to find their sound, their creative expression. I believe that the wisdom that our bodies naturally have is much more profound than one person's experience, and I feel honored and delighted to guide my students to find it all for themselves.
