About
Certified voice teacher ready to take your musical abilities to the next level!
I have taught hundreds of (virtual) voice, guitar and piano lessons; and through this experience, have had the ability to work with an incredibly diverse range of students, honing in my effective teaching style.
I have a strong passion for music, which I have been studying for over thirteen years. From the time I was ten years old, I have been formally singing in select choirs, musicals, and solo performances; and I have even been fortunate enough to perform on stages and in theaters such as the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center. Additionally, I have recorded songs in professional studios and have played the guitar and piano for recorded tacks. This past year, I was also fortunate enough to have the opportunity to judge for a virtual national singing competition. In 2019, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts with a Bachelor's in Fashion from Arizona State University.
Teaching Style
In my lessons I offer an abundance of encouragement, knowledge, helpful corrections, and (possibly most importantly) absolutely no judgement. I encourage my students to find their own musical interests and preferences and often remind them that there is nothing wrong with making mistakes, so long as we learn from them. I strive to be as interactive with the students as possible and guide them along the journey to discovering who they would like to be as musicians and artists.
I have instructed individuals with varying goals, personalities and conditions, and I am both able and absolutely willing to adapt my teaching style dependent on the student's unique needs.
Curriculum
For piano lessons, I use John W. Schaum, Alfred's Basic Piano Course, and James Bastien piano curriculum depending on the pupil's age and current knowledge of piano.
For voice lessons, I provide my student's with a personalized path to healthy singing dictated by the student's goals and unique voice. For voice student's looking to expound upon their knowledge of the voice, I would highly recommend reading "The Structure of Singing" by Richard Miller.
