Marisa has been teaching private lessons since 2008 and is currently available to teach lessons online.
Marisa received her training at Clarke College in 2008 where she received a degree in Music Education with an emphasis in percussion. Marisa teaches percussion, piano and guitar students and looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals. Marisa's teaching style is student focused, fundamental focused, and goal oriented.
My ultimate goal is for my students to play music and to enjoy learning a lifelong skill. I believe the student's interests and goals should influence the direction of each lesson. Fundamentals are vital to playing music and I believe it is important for students to have strong skills in note reading, scales, rudiments, rhythm identification, technique and posture. I also believe that having fun and being able to play music that interest the student will help keep them motivated.
I find or create curriculum that meets the needs and interests of my students. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach. My goal is to give them a solid foundation in fundamentals while also allowing them to enjoy playing music.
