About

I have been playing since I was 4 and started out in Suzuki which I followed through age 10. Branching out I started concertizing and studied in in England under Monica Langham. I went on to study with Professor Stephen Hyde and graduated from West Virginia University, Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Music in Applied Violin. I have played with many group over the years including as Concertmaster for the Pittsburg Youth Symphony, WVU Symphony, Baylor Symphony, and Principal 2nd Gwinnett Symphony I continue to be actively engaged in concertizing, teaching and exploring electronic violin music fused with Rock, Blues, Bluegrass and EDM. I am always on the lookout for new motivated students and peers who wish to collaborate.

I love teaching all styles of violin not just Classical.  I especially like the new possibilities with electric violins and specialize in this area.  It is a whole other world of technique to master rather than just simply the mechanics of playing the instrument which of course must still be learned.

I especially passing on the knowledge as I feel others have spent the time with me in the past and I love the idea of carrying on that tradition.

Bachelor Of Applied Violin - West Virginia University

I teach modified Suzuki following most of their graded book series as well as training by ear which I think is essential.  Its not enough just to read the notes.  For those who are so inclined I might focus on the Mark O'Connor method books and for more advanced students they will go through a rigorous series of etude books starting with Wolfhart through, Kreutzer, O'Sevcik and beyond.
