Markus Finkler studied trumpet in Saarbrücken, Karlsruhe and Berlin. Most influential was his teacher Prof. Reinhold Friedrich. Beeing his first student in 1987 he Markus joint his class for five years. After that he got a scholarship from the Herbert von Karajan - Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
He worked with conductors like Claudio Abbado, Sir Simopn Rattle, James Levine, Herbert Blomstedt, Bernard Haitink, Zubin Mehta, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Giuseppe Sinopoli and Peter Eötvös et al.
Since 1995, he´s principal trumpet with Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra and besides a questioned freelance trumpet player who joined other classical orchestras and smaller bands and groups.
He won 1st prize in the National Trumpet competition of the German Economy and was finalist of the 1994 Ellsworth Smith Competition in Colombus/Ohio
He has been soloist with the trumpet concertos of Haydn, Arutjunian, Telemann, Tomasi, 2nd Brandenburg Concerto by Bach and many others..
My teaching goal is to develop playing abilities for everybody. This includes the embouchure and tongue techniques for all styles of music. It doesn´t matter, what style of music you prefer - my tongue technique works for all and helps to improve your range and endurance.
I would also work on classical,baroque and contemporary stuff, as well as Bb-trumpet, C-trumpet, Eb-trumpet and Piccolo-trumpet
