Clarinetist Maryanne Lacaille has been a driving force in the music business as a Rico Reed Artist, Buffet Clinician, recording artist, orchestral soloist and chamber musician and as a private clarinet instructor. Her teachers include Harold Wright, Peter Hadcock, Gino Cioffi at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Attilio Poto at Boston Conservatory of Music, Bill Dominik at University of the Pacific, Dr. Raymond Wheeler at Central Washington University and continued her studies in the Seattle area from Seattle Symphony clarinetist Ron Philips. In 1978-80 she was clarinetist for the Boston Opera Orchestra under the direction of Sarah Caldwell performing the Boston world premiere of Michael Tippett's "The Ice Break".Maryanne toured with Phantom of the Opera and Carousel in the US and West Side Story in Europe from 1994-1999.

In the Pacific Northwest, she is principal clarinet with Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra and Federal Way Symphony. Maryanne is in-demand as a soloist, chamber musician and private clarinet instructor.

Trio di Buson was formed in 2008 which lead to a debut concert at Merkin Hall in New York performing "Buson's Ballet" composed by the ensemble's pianist/composer John Alan Rose. In 2010 their first CD was recorded at Patrych Studios (NYC) and will be out soon on the Guild Record Label. The Trio is currently under artist management with Patricia Alberti Artists and Master Orchestra Production in Vienna.

Maryanne has been working on a recording project with composer European composer Armando Ghidoni. "Virtuoso Swing Solo" is an exquisite Ghidoni musical gem with clean evaporating texture that presents a subtle hue of standard jazz intermingled with subsequent flourishes of extended technique into the extreme altissimo register.

2014 ICA conference in Baton Rouge at LSU. Maryanne will be performing a work for Clarinet and CD sponsored by the D'Addario Corporation. Her Trio di Buson recently release their first album on the Guild Record Label featuring original music by the Trio's pianist/composer John Alan Rose.

Maryanne teaches over 35 students privately and 17 in video conferencing, many of which have advanced to both Local and National Finals in the Music Educators National Convention National Woodwind Auditions. In 2011 and 2012, four of her top players formed a professional clarinet quartet that took top awards at both national and international Competitions and are currently attending Oberlin and Manhattan Schools of Music.



Maryanne is truly an outstanding clarinet instructor who delivers high quality private clarinet instruction as well as group lessons, providing the best advice to help students not only achieve their individual goals but also to help them get into the streamline of having the right tools to succeed in their chosen musical profession. It has always been her philosophy to not only teach the fingers how to play, but also to teach the entire student.
