I am a qualified and experienced jazz, classical and contemporary piano teacher with over 13 years of teaching experience.
At the age of 17, I completed my grade 8 classical piano cum laude and grade 6 theory of music from the University of South Africa. I was subsequently invited to participate in the University of South Africa's Music Scholarship Competition. I obtained my Bachelor of Music degree cum laude, majoring in jazz piano performance, and my Master of Music in musicology from the University of Pretoria.
During my undergraduate studies, I tutored aural training for the University of Pretoria, as well as jazz piano improvisation privately. Since 2013, I have been teaching piano, keyboard and music appreciation at Curro Private School in Pretoria, as well as private in-person and online piano lessons after-hours. Among the students aged 4 to 82 whom I have taught, many have achieved up to 92% for their Trinity London piano and theory examinations, and won numerous eisteddfod categories.
My lessons focus on developing my students' technical, aural, performance, sight reading and theoretical skills, through playing their favorite pieces and songs. I am a very patient teacher who loves working with beginners and intermediate level students of all ages.
Lessons are tailored to suit each individual based on their skills and musical interests.
