About
Hello! My name is Mayssa, I am a professional music teacher and performer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Musicology from the Higher Institute of Sfax (2017–2020) and a Master’s Degree in Music and Musicology from the University of Tunis in 2022. I have several years of teaching experience in piano, oud, oriental keyboard, solfège, ear training, and music theory.
From 2019 to 2021, I taught at Ali Baba Conservatory in Sfax, Tunisia, where I worked with students of different ages and levels. Added to that I have 5 years online teaching experience. My teaching included western and Arabic music theory, rhythmic exercises, vocal training, maqams such as Rast, Bayati, Hejaz, Ajam, and Kurdi, as well as western scales and classical repertoire.
I am passionate about helping students build strong musical foundations while also developing creativity, expression, and confidence. I adapt my lessons to each student’s goals whether they want to learn music professionally, improve technique, prepare for performances, or simply enjoy music as a hobby.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is supportive, encouraging, and adaptable. I believe every student learns differently, so I personalize lessons according to the student’s age, experience, musical interests, and goals.
I create a comfortable learning environment where students feel motivated and confident to express themselves musically. I enjoy teaching both beginners and intermediate students, and I aim to make lessons engaging, organized, and enjoyable while maintaining high educational standards.
Curriculum
My teaching method combines technical training, musical understanding, and practical application. I focus on building strong fundamentals through progressive exercises tailored to the student’s level and learning pace.
In lessons, I may include:
Technique development and posture correction
Ear training and rhythmic exercises
Music theory and sight reading
Solfège and vocal exercises
Arabic maqams and western scales
Repertoire practice and musical interpretation
I use a patient and structured approach that encourages students to actively participate and develop confidence through consistent progress.
