Current Teaching Artist for What Is Opera, Anyway? (2020-present)

Taught students privately 2017-onwards (music, technique, theory, practice habits, music history. Preperation for NYSSMA and other regional exams)

I have years of experience teaching piano at all skill levels, beginner to advanced (and all ages!). Whether you’re looking to start learning the instrument, brush up on your skills, focus on technique work (such as scale and arpeggio requirements for exams), or are looking for extra help to get ready for a test or competition, I can tailor a custom lesson plan best suited for you. Lessons feature a comprehensive, individually-personalized focus on:

  • secure, consistent technique through a structured practice routine

  • a well-rounded repertoire (by both established and underrepresented composers) and musical vocabulary

  • integrating an understanding of music theory into the repertoire

  • encouraging the student’s own unique musical voice and interests

  • learning how to learn in order to achieve musical independence and confidence

I am also available for tutoring in music theory or music history. If you’re prepping for the AP music theory exam, music history placement tests for college, or simply would like to expand your knowledge in classical music, contact me to find out about how to set up a tutoring plan! Tutoring sessions can focus on a particular area (such as art song repertoire, or understanding common practice era harmony, for example), or provide a general approach to music as best suits your needs.
