Hey! My name is Mikayla and I am a passionate musician with 15 years of experience! I am your friendly, patient, and determined music teacher from the South! For the past 15 years, I have been learning, performing, and teaching music. Along with a piano concentration, I am an intermediate voice teacher. I have experience playing with my state's youth and adult symphony, choirs, and countless local musicians. No matter your age, learning style, or prior knowledge, I can help you reach your music goals! I consider music to be a language that anyone can speak to connect with the world. Let me help you learn it!
Through a personable persona, I focus on getting to know my students for who they are and how they learn. Everyone is different and learns at their own pace. For parents who have signed up their child(ren) for lessons, I give them weekly updates on what concepts we have been working on and how they are improving. Any goal can be achieved but not every student gets there the same way or at the same pace. It is important to be encouraging, patient, and optimistic. Everyone has bad days; it's what we do with them that makes the difference!

My teaching method varies based on the student's age, prior knowledge, and personality. Once I get to know each student's goals and learning style, I create a personalized plan that will help achieve them. This usually takes a couple of lessons the younger the student is, then we get down to the nitty-gritty!
