I teach recorder and Irish tin whistle to students of all ages and levels. I have a B.A. in Music Performance from Yale University, a Master of Music degree from the University of New York at Stonybrook, and over thirty years teaching experience. I taught folk music for over twenty years at Swallow Hill Music in Denver, and founded Denver's first Suzuki recorder studio for children. I am a regular presenter at meetings of the American Recorder Society, Denver chapter, and my Baroque quartet, Semplice, was ensemble-in-residence at Regis University in 2019.
I love to teach! Music is my lifelong passion, and one of my favorite things is to help other people acquire the skills to play music themselves. Watching a student grow musically is incredibly rewarding. And one of the nicest things about learning music is that the whole process can be fun – you don’t have to wait until you’re a star to enjoy yourself!
I work with each student individually to determine which materials and methods will best help you reach your personal goals. Please message me to find a date and time that will work for you (my availability on Lessonface's calendar is not up-to-date).
