Mustafa Onder

I am a professional cellist and music educator with over 25 years of experience playing the cello and many years of teaching students of different ages and levels.

I hold both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Cello Performance from State Conservatories of Classical Western Music. My master's research focused on the relationship between psychology and music performance, examining the effects of psychologically rooted traumas on instrumental performance.

My musical journey began at an early age under the guidance of my father, a cellist with the İzmir State Opera and Ballet. Throughout my education, I studied with distinguished professors including Erol Şekeramber, Çağlayan Ünal Sümer, Engin Sansa, and Eren Güllü.

I have participated in masterclasses with internationally recognized artists such as Alexander Rudin, Umberto Clerici, Peter Bruns, and Benyamin Sönmez. As a performer, I have appeared in numerous solo, chamber music, and orchestral concerts and have worked with ensembles including the İzmir State Symphony Orchestra, Antalya State Symphony Orchestra, National Youth Symphony Orchestra, Odeon Chamber Orchestra, Anatolian Philharmonic Orchestra, and Olten Philharmonic Orchestra.

In addition to my extensive background in Western Classical Music, I also possess knowledge of Arabic music traditions and musical interpretation.

My teaching approach is student-centered, supportive, and goal-oriented.

I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt each lesson to the student's age, level, learning style, and musical goals. Whether you are a complete beginner, an amateur musician, or an advanced student preparing for conservatory auditions, I create a structured learning plan that helps you progress confidently.

My lessons combine technical development with musical expression. I focus not only on how to play the instrument correctly but also on understanding the music and enjoying the learning process.

I aim to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their musical abilities at their own pace.
