About

I am a creative technologist and front-end web developer who loves combining math and art where ever possible. I also enjoy explaining difficult math concepts using down-to-earth, layman English and creative, zany metaphors to really make sure a student understands the concepts. I have taught Interactive Media as a teaching assistant at NYUAD for 1.5 years, helping students learn how to brainstorm, problem-solve, and debug all sorts of projects in the various programming languages. I also grade and give feedback on math and science assignments and ELA essays for kids in 3rd - 12th grade as well as teach elementary students online how to code in Scratch. Additionally, I have been tutoring fellow peers and younger students throughout my education in a wide array of subjects including math, sciences, programming, and writing. I have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from NYUAD with a minor in Visual Arts Practice with a focus on both Fine Arts and Interactive Media.

Teaching Style

I make math a stress-free learning experience by focusing on the student's weaknesses or trouble points and by focusing on creating a strong foundation before working up to harder levels. I explain difficult concepts by breaking them down, speaking in a down-to-earth, layman English style, and by coming up with creative, zainy metaphors to help make sense of the topic at hand and where it is applicable in real life.

Curriculum

I'm currently focusing on using storytelling and role-playing exercises to teach kids math.
