About

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Nathan Chambers has been studying/performing the trombone since the 6th grade, having studied under and taken lessons with renowned performers and educators such as Brittany Lasch, Blake Schlabach, Carl Lenthe, Larry Zalkind, Peter Ellefson, and Jim Beckel. He has performed with the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra (which toured to Carnegie Hall in 2022), the IBA All-State Honor Band, and the IJEA All-State Jazz Band. Some of Nathan's accolades include the John Philip Sousa Band Award, runner-up at the Indianapolis Young Artist Competition, and being named an outstanding jazz soloist at the Purdue University Jazz Festival for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022). He was most recently a finalist in the 2024 Big 12 Tenor Trombone Competition. As a student at Perry Meridian High School, Nathan received four gold ratings at Indiana state solo and ensemble contests; three being with distinction (one of which was a perfect score). He is currently studying under Dr. Brittany Lasch at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music (Class of 2026), studying trombone performance with a minor in jazz studies.

I am easygoing and simply want to share my passion for trombone playing with my students! Learning to play the trombone should be fun and exciting.
