About

As a seasoned music teacher and private instructor, I've taught hundreds of students and helped them achieve their goals. My education is from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) where I studied with Dr. Leigh Wakefield and earned a Bachelor of Music major in Music Education. I earned a master's degree in music education from the University of Nebraska (Kearney, NE). As an undergraduate, I performed on countless concerts and recitals including three full hour long clarinet recitals with works ranging from Weber's Concerto No. 2 to New York Counterpoint by Steve Reich to Copland's famous Clarinet Concerto and even Sing, Sing, Sing by Louis Prima.

Other prominent teachers include Burt Hara of the Los Angeles Philharmonic on clarinet, Dr. Scott A. Jones of The Ohio State University in conducting.

I am happy to help you transform your playing and achieve your goals! Whether you are a high school student preparing for an audition or an adult beginner looking to learn a new instrument, I'm here to help. I've been a high school music teacher for over a decade where my students have consistently earned honors for their solos, ensembles, and jazz performances through the WSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest.

All students begin with an assessment of their fundamentals: tone, pulse, interpretation, and musicality. Goals are set and we begin our journey together crafting a set of lessons to help you achieve your goal.
