Nicholas Brightwell

I'm a musician of 16 years playing Fingerstyle, Slide, Spanish and Pop Guitar! I have a University degree in Fingersytle guitar, play in covers bands and work with orginal artists. I'm a friendly, passionate teacher that keeps the mood light. I work to help you find your passion within guitar, or give you new perspectives to fuel your own direction. 

I have a unique degree in Fingesrtyle Guitar from the worlds first University FS Guitar Performance Program. My passion lies in performance and sharing it with audiences. I can help you become a better performer, and musician, with experience from some the industiries leading guitar instructors. I'm primarily an acoustic guitarist but play electric guitar in covers bands and work as a "hired gun" for recording purposes. I compose my own material drawing on elements of fingerstyle guitar but also blending differnet styles together.  I can help you with the mechcanics of songwriting but also talk philopsohy of songwriting and the history of our modern musical styles. I am a passionate teacher and work hard for my students that share my passion for performance. 

I teach technique from a classical guitar point of view, being aware of correct use of left and right hands leads to faster playing, better expression and more control. 

I teach jamming and rhytmn from improvising over rock "standards" highlighting the different styles of the guitar gods, Hendrix, Page, Sanatana, Slash, Morello etc..

I have personally studied Pre-1945 blues guitar and hold this era of music close to my heart. I can show you the greats of slide guitar and help you understand the great blues artists that emerged during the 50's, 60's and 70's. 

I have a historical background of modern music and it's context within todays society. Knowing where your music orginated helps you imagine where it can go.
