I am a college student with over 11 years playing experience, 6 years professional playing experience and 2 years teaching experience. I was a freelance musician out of Los Angeles California and played in Big Bands, Top 40's Pop Bands, Latin Groups and Jazz Combos before moving to Oklahoma and performing classically in church groups and Brass Bands while working on my degree in Trumpet Performance at the University of Oklahoma. I am currently finishing up my degree in Kentucky. I have experience in Musicals professionally playing 1st Trumpet with A Christmas Story National Broadway Tour, as well as with College and High School Productions. I also have touring/residency experiences in Hawaii. I have had much success with past students when teaching out of Music and Arts in Los Angeles and even being called to sub for other teachers from different music stores when their teacher couldn't make certain days.
I am a motivational teacher. I practice the pedagogy style of the late William Adam from IU. In this pedagogy we focus on the imagination of our ideal sound. We conceptualize this sound by listening to great trumpet players on a daily basis. This helps us form our ideal sound over time, as long as we are putting the necessary time into the horn. Each day is a drop in the bucket and we push to make every day better than the last.
