Nicholas Downs’ feature film roles include both Hollywood blockbusters Pearl Harbor, The Girl Next Door, Constantine, The Holiday as well as award-winning indie features Is It Just Me?, 16 to Life, The Apocalypse According to Doris, The Awakening of Spring and Anderson’s Cross. Nicholas has been seen on hit television shows including NCIS: Los Angeles, Castle, Cold Case, Boston Public, The Young and the Restless, The Guardian, Make it or Break it and Lifetime’s, Beautiful and Twisted.
Nicholas is also a producer of the indie features Anderson’s Cross and eCupid as well as the hit comedy web series Steam Room Stories.
His film, The Handyman, played in film festivals worldwide last year and now he’s excited to present it’s follow film, Honey Do List, his directorial debut.
I feel the most important thing to do is to listen first. In acting, it's all about listening. We don't know how to react if we didn't listen to what the other person just said to us or what they did to us. I think taking time to know what the student needs is the best approach and ultimately garners the best results.
I have studied the Meisner Technique for many years. And my most recent teacher, who I learned the most from, actually studied with Sandy Meisner years ago in New York.
