About

Playing and teaching music is my life and passion!     I have been playing music since the 1980's.  While I received my Bachelor of Music Degree in Classical percussion,  my tastes in music are extremely wide ranging.     Everything from Classical to Music theatre,  Latin/Brazilian, Canto-pop, R+B, Funk, Industrial, Armenian and Persian Folk music.    It's all music, and it's all great!   Some playing highlights include backing up Petula Clark, The Canadian Tenors, Kenny G, and Don Rickles., and performing in Philippines, Malaysia, U.K., and to 10,000 people at the Oakland Oracle Arena.

I have been teaching for over 30 years.   I have taught ages ranging from young children to seniors, complete beginners to University level music students.    I co-taught the first ever Salsa music workshop at The University of The Philippines, and am currently teaching at Trinity Western University in Langley B.C.

Bachelor of Music Degree 1986. University of Victoria Private studies with teachers in Vancouver, Victoria, and New York. Two sessions studying at Cazadero Brazil Camp, California. Numerous sessions studying at Victoria Jazz Intensive.

My teaching method is best expressed as inspiring students through my real-world experience.    All types of texts are used:  method books, audio, video.
