Hey! My name is Nick, and I am a guitarist / singer-songwriter living and working as a full time music teacher in New York City. I have 15 years of professional teaching experience, and I am comfortable teaching many styles of music.
I started playing guitar when I was 15 years old and within 3 years of playing I began teaching guitar lessons at my local guitar shop full time. I eventually received a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music where I connected with incredible artists from all over the world and honed my craft as a lead guitarist and singer/songwriter. After my studies I moved to New York City and began working as a band director and guitar teacher for School of Rock where I have been teaching for over 11 years! In 2020 I released my debut album on an independent label called Bada Bing records. I currently participate in a thriving music and art community here in NYC, and I regularly perform with my band Youbet at dozens of venues in the Brooklyn music scene.
After several years of performing, recording, touring, and songwriting I feel I carry with me a unique vision within guitar playing and songwriting, and I love to share all of my musical secrets with my students. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned player looking to see a new perspective -- I got you!
Every student is unique, and I tailor each lesson to fit the needs of whomever I am working with. I love to talk about goals big or small and map out a way forward to achieve them. My lessons are laid back and meant to be fun although if you are looking for something more structured and rigorous I am happy to do that too! I like to teach songs, music theory, ear-training , technique, improvisation, and how to better unlock your personal creativity on the instrument whether through composition or songwriting.
