About
I started teaching guitar in the late 80’s at a local music store and continued teaching at music stores and privately over the years. Besides playing in rock bands, I have studied classical guitar and music theory at the following universities:
- University of Cincinnati’s Conservatory of Music
- Northern Kentucky University
- Middle Tennessee State University
In addition to music performance and studying, I have taught audio mixing and music production at Full Sail University in Florida.
I teach beginner and intermediate lessons with the goal of keeping you interested and having fun. If you are having fun, you will keep playing and that is the key. Do you want to learn your favorite songs? We can do that. Are you curious about music theory? Let’s dive in. If you have never played the guitar, we will start with the basics of course, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start on a fun song on day one.
There is a ton of information on the web and I encourage you to explore what you can find for free. And I will give you suggestions as well. But learning an instrument can be confusing and it’s nice to have some real time guidance as you try to figure things out.
Each student is different and we will progress at your pace.
