About

I was born and raised in Colombia. From a young age i was exposed to various styles of music, from 70s Rock, Disco and Funk to Salsa, Cumbia, Boleros and Bambucos. My passion for music only grew with the years. I started taking guitar lessons when i was 12 years old, and by the time I was 14 had I decided I wanted to persue a career in music. During this time I learned all of my favourite Rock and Pop songs. I formed a band with my friends and we would perform at our school. After I graduated High School I attended EMMAT-Escuela de Música, Medios, Arte y Tecnología from 2016 to 2018, where I expanded musical vocabulary into Jazz, Brazilian styles and Classical music. In the second half of 2018 I transfered my credits to Berklee College of Music, where I majored in Contemporary Writing and Production with a minor in Conducting. My journey so far has led me to playing and learning from super talented musicans which expanded my musical vocabulry by understanding how phrasing in different styles works and how to mix them into a new kind of sound that fits all styles of music.

My teaching style is all about comunication, goal setting and time managment. To me, the most imporatant thing is that my students leave with a clear understanding of the topics we discussed so they can explore them more deeply on their own, and come back feeling confident and ready for more. Comunication has to exist both in speech and musical level. Teaching is something that has to make both the teacher and the student better themselves, so I strive for clear comunication and creating an enviroment where my students can feel confident of themselves as musicians. By setting short and long term goals we will set our track in the right direction and we will be able to see what areas we need to work on in order to obtain the best results.
