About

Pamela Jenkins grew up in the middle of the woods, and spent her childhood wandering amongst trees, along stream banks, and through meadows, listening closely to her grandparents’ and father’s shared knowledge of the plants which surrounded them.  She is honored to be the steward of a small piece of land in Baltimore County, where she has planted many of the native trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants she remembers from her childhood, as well as many old-fashioned garden favorites.   Pamela is happiest in the garden planting, tending or harvesting, or in the studio making prints, creating books or playing with fibers.

Pamela brings enthusiasm and excitement to the classes she teaches, and encourages students to experiment and explore possibilities once they have a foundational understanding of the topic.  She creates a positive and supportive classroom environment.  Pamela has taught eco-printing both in-person and virtually to small groups, and looks forward to sharing her love of eco-printing with more people via Lessonface.  She has also taught workshops about native plants at her neighborhood elementary school, where she guided fifth graders through the process of selecting shrubs and perennials to plant around the school pond, and participated in Writer's Workshops at the school, teaching students to use observational skills to write nature-related poems .
