San Francisco Bay Area Soprano Alisha Monahan, nickname "Pepper" began singing at age 4. By age 8 she was recording voice overs for radio ads, TV commercials, and children’s cartoons. By age 24, she was an equity actor having appeared in 40 Broadway shows and productions.
At the height of her professional career, she was asked to take over the vocal direction for the children in the cast of the ‘King and I” and discovered she loved teaching the kids , making rehearsals fun and lifting their confidence.
When the children began asking to take lessons privately with her, she opened a music school for kids with a commitment to make lessons fun, easy and feel like "Play" while developing excellent musicians.
She is owner of Play With Pepper Music Academy.
Pepper is proud to be a loog certified Loog guitar instructor. Loog is a unique guitar program created specifically for children to experience the joy of playing guitar immediately.
Piano lessons in our studio are exciting, relevant, fun and made for kids using technology, games, and all styles of music.
As classically trained voice teacher, professional singer and Broadway performer/voice actor, Miss Pepper is committed to teaching children to sing beautifully using correct technique, and empower them to reach their full vocal potential.
Pepper creates amazing music programs that allow kids to play with ease and confidence from the very first lesson.
Ms Monahan attended Las Positas College, Mills College, and Cal State East Bay where she majored in Music and Vocal Performance. She has been teaching music privately since 1999.
