Industry Active Vocal and Music Theory Teacher
My name is Rachel and I am a 26-year-old vocal teacher based in Central London. Having started my own singing journey at a young age, I initially began singing in choirs at school. Here I gained experience working with a wide range of material, from classical to contemporary, and later gained my ABRSM Grade 8 (Merit).
Since then I have gone on to sing original material for the past decade and performed with multiple bands on the London live scene, including my own. I have worked professionally with vocal group Choir Noir providing backing vocals most notably for a Grammy-nominated album by Bring Me The Horizon, as well as performing at London's Roundhouse amongst other renowned venues. Both the original acts I currently sing in have toured internationally, with one opening for US band Gossip earlier this year. Most recently, I have been working with London music charity School Ground Sounds as a mentor alongside teaching private lessons.
As a teacher, I believe that every voice is unique and I strive to make sure my lessons reflect this! I work to provide you with healthy vocal techniques and practices that can be applied to your own voice, whatever your end goal. Whether you have been singing for a while and need some guidance, or are just starting out, I'm here to help guide you. My combination of vocal training and hands-on experience gives me a skill-set that I believe enriches my lessons with engaging content and helps you become a better singer. Ultimately I believe singing often boils down to confidence, and am here to help you find your voice! I am also available to teach Music Theory on a variety of levels. Having gained a Music A-Level and had a wide experience of ABRSM examinations, I am able to help give you strong theoretical foundations to build your musical journey upon!
