Hey my name is Rafael , Im a spanish musician with a high level of musical education. I´ve been playing and studying in cities like Los Angeles, Madrid and London with some of the best musicians in the world. I´ve studied with teachers from music schools like Musicians Institute and Berklee College of Music. I finished part of my studies at Musicians Institute in Hollywood where I got my Associate Degree in guitar performance, I play in multiple bands and work at recording studios. I have more than ten years of experience teaching and motivating students of all ages and levels with electric, acoustic, spanish and classical guitar. I teach musical harmony, guitar reading, improvisation, technique, ear training, musical composition and much more going through styles like blues, funk, flamenco influences, rock, jazz, reggae, pop, classical music...
My teaching methodology is based on the pillars of Musicians Institute but I adapt to the necessities of each student.
Most of my students, if they pay attention and practice at home, show a fast evolution on the instrument from the first class, understanding musical concepts and being able to visualize it on the instrument. I'm not just a teacher who teaches you how to play songs, I go to the source of the harmonic, melodic and rhythmic understanding, I make sure you get and comprehend it, and after that you will be able to play how you always wanted.
