About

I am a touring & studio guitarist, and have included teaching to my schedule the last 2 years. It is something that I love and it connects me to infinite perspectives on music and guitar. I teach in-home and also in my own studio, and will help you meet your goals an find new ones. I am originally from Argentina but have lived around the world, so I carry with me a diverse musical knowledge that has made me adaptable and flexible in many situations.  I have a degree from Berklee College of Music with a specialization in Jazz Composition and Performance.

Teaching for me is about finding a balance. The way I approach a lesson consists of focusing solely on the students goals and aspirations and working on that, but also demonstrating yourself to be a good musician and teacher who your student trusts and receives inspiration from. That said, I like to find out and sometimes predict what students would like to do with the guitar and start from there. Every lesson, there is one or two new concepts, technical or theoretical, that I believe will get my student to her/his goal. I like to end lessons with an inspirational "jam", using as much info as my student knows, and demonstrating to them how much could be done with one concept we discussed in class.

I base all my teaching on all the different private lessons I've received over my 10+ years of playing and learning guitar with very different guitarists/musicians. I started playing when I was 11, but I find that for any beginner, it's important to start with material that gets instant "musical" sound from the guitar. I believe this consists on working on basic chords which you can use to start singing songs, or learning some easy riffs or melodies that will have you playing music in a matter of a few weeks. Once you get more advanced, technical aspects like music theory, understanding what you already know and using that information creatively become more important in the lessons. For advanced players, the main idea is finding the strengths and weaknesses of the students, working on maintaining those strengths and slowly improving on the weaknesses with specific data, which may be technical or theoretical/mental.
