About

Raquelle is a singer (lifelong) and classical pianist (20 years) with complementary experience in guitar (10 years) and a passion for songwriting, composing, and all things art! She studied commercial voice at Belmont University and has continued her career as a performer. She believes deeply in being a well-rounded musician, and has played in concert halls, churches, private events, and folk festivals. She has experience recording in professional studios in Nashville, TN and has released music both with her folk band Blackwood Row, as well as under her own name. She has arranged music for symphony orchestra, jazz band, and string quartets, and has written over 50 songs. When she's not teaching or in the studio, she is geeking out on geography, psychology, meditation, plants, puzzles, and poetry.

It is my job to teach theory, skills, discipline, etc. but it is my calling to teach and encourage the art of a creative life.

I tailor each lesson plan to the needs of the student. As a performing and recording artist, I sing in a wide variety of styles and implement these techniques with my students. I don't insist on any particular way of teaching, as I've found that everybody responds differently to different styles.

I like to balance positivity and encouragement with discipline and hard work; but most of all I encourage my students to have FUN!

Degree in Commercial Music acquired in 2019 from Belmont University
Primary instrument: Voice
Secondary instrument: Piano
Emphasis: Composition/Arranging

I recommend all students, especially teenagers/adults, to go through the 12-week course The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. *Disclaimer: this workbook involves spiritual practice but is open to whatever beliefs the student may have. I personally hold no official religious affiliation and do not involve spiritual practice in my teaching methods. I merely think this is an excellent source for any artist who wants to deepen their creativity.

For classical/beginner piano students: Piano Adventures

For Vocal Students: will vary based on need/goals
