Teaching Style
As a Suzuki teacher, I like to follow some of the principles of the method at any age. Listening before playing, playing by heart, using previous materials and skills to introduce new knowledge and being a positive person and teacher are some of these principles. For online lessons, I provide all the sheet music students need, and I use some extra materials such as images and videos to help understanding specific subjects. I adapt my pedagogy and the learning pace to the needs and goals of each student and keep them motivated with new challenges they are able to reach.
Curriculum
For the kids, I follow the Suzuki method. For teenagers, adults and advanced students I use several materials. I usually follow the Suzuki books until book 3 and 4 and the Rick Mooney's Position Pieces books 1 and 2. For more advanced students I use baroque, classical and romantic works, and Dotzauer, Duport and Popper books. For developing the technique, I recommend Daily Exercises of Feuillard and Sevcik's variations.
